HMS Bounty, the maritime star of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and site of the famous mutiny, is to be a headline-grabbing attraction at the Southampton Boat Show.
The historic vessel will be the centrepiece of the show throughout September, before it is to due to embark on a journey to the Pitcairn Islands and Tahiti.
Visitors will be given the chance to learn about the mutiny, which saw Fletcher Christian overthrown Captain Bligh over 200 years ago, and will be able to quiz the ship's crew about any aspect of the ship and its impending voyage.
Prior to its starring role in the new movie, HMS Bounty had played itself in the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty.
James Gower, an organiser of the Southampton Boat Show, said: "We’re delighted that HMS Bounty, a ship of such historical importance as well as a famous movie star, is coming to the Southampton Boat Show.
"Such an attraction will generate mass appeal, and we’re expecting HMS Bounty to prove a real hit with all the visitors to the show."
The 39th Southampton Boat Show is set to take place in Mayflower Park from September 14th to 23rd and is expected to draw an audience of over 140,000.
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 opens throughout the UK today.
