RYA OnBoard will again be running kids try dinghy sailing taster sessions from the RYA’s stand E052 over both weekends.   All clothing and equipment will be supplied and RYA instructors will be running the sessions.  All you need to do is turn up, sign up, and give it a go.

If power boating is more your cup of tea then come and watch some of the UK’s most skilled young RIB drivers compete in the final of the RYA Honda Youth RIB Championship being held on the last day of the show (Sunday 21st September).  Regional heats have been taking place throughout the summer and each regional champion will travel to the show where they will battle it out round a time trial course testing their RIB handling skills, manoeuvres and man over board recovery.  Presentations will be made on the main Honda stand C62 at the end of the day.

On the environmental front the Green Blue, the RYA and BMF’s joint environmental initiative, will be launching their new recycling programme with round the world yachts woman Dee Caffari and their new Recycling Officer Dan Reading. Dan has been working with marinas and sailing clubs in the South to better improve recycling facilities for boaters and will be working with marine establishments around the country after the show.

Following the crowning of the RYA’s first ever Club of the Year earlier this year, the nominations for next year’s awards will open on the RYA stand. To find out how to nominate your club, visit the RYA Website  www.rya.org.uk  .
