For sale is 'Alara' an excellent example of a Turkish Gulet. She was built in 2002 and boasts 4 double cabins all with en-suites and WC's, and 2 crew berths. Powered by a 240hp MAN diesel engine she cruises at 8 knots so is perfect for island hopping around the Aegean (currently lying in Greece) or Meditterean. She has been owned by a british boat builder for the past 2 years and so has benefitted from uncompromising love and maintenance since. At the beginning of this season the hull was stripped and re-antifouled, the deck has a new cabin roof, been re-varnished, new steel masts, part new teak decking, £8000 worth of the latest Raymarine navigation equipment, new mattresses in the cabins, new yellow matching sunshades, cushions, forward loungers (8), sail covers with Lazy Jack rigging. She has 3 sails and looks stunning when they are up, 1 yr old 3.5 metre inflatable tender with 15hp outboard. She has just completed a passage from Marmaris in Turkey to Poros in Greece (30 miles south of Athens) and is very capable in open ocean. She is British registered and flagged. Tank capacities are as follows; fuel 1000 litres, fresh water 3000 litres, waste 1000 litres. She has a draft of 2.10 metres and weighs 44 tonnes.
