History
Quite late on the Quarter ton scene 'Catch' is quite a performer. Designed by Philip Briand this Kevlar constructed boat cost £95k to build in 1985. The average UK house price was only £31k then.
This boat was special.
After the death of IOR 'Catch' spent many years racing CHS/IRC in the Solent many good class wins.
She was hunted by her present owner who found her in Windermere in a sorry state. The vendor pursued 'Catch' as she was known/seen to be one of the fastest Quarter tonners ever drawn.
She was reunited with the Solent in 2006 after an extensive refit.
'Catch' came 4th in the '06' Quarter ton cup but the improvements didn't stop there.
She returned in '07' with the engine removed and a new IRC rig and won division in the RTIR, 1st in the Jersey telecom regatta, 1st Vice admirals and 2nd at the quarter ton cup.
