This is a 1989 American built J35 which has been lovingly and professionaly refitted over the last two years. She has had the hull stripped back and epoxied, rebuilt and reinforced 10ft in all directions around the keel, new floors, new mast, rod rigging, forestay and back stay, new clutches, new winches, new top and bottom rudderstock bearings, new keel, new North 3DL main sail, No1, and No3 (used once). She also has about 20 other sails and a new full race pack of B&G electronics (yet to be fitted). To all intents and purposes she is virtually a new boat, and all she needs now to make her pristine is painting of the hull and decks. Whilst this is not essential, she does not quite look like a movie star at the moment!!
The approx cost of refit so far, excluding purchase price of the original boat, hull and keel £18000, sails £14000, electronics £8000, mast and rigging £18000, winches, clutches and deck fittings £5000 and other "stuff" about £3000. Why you may ask? She is a very fast boat; pre refit I sailed her in only one regatta chalking up two second places (losing one race be 2 seconds..!) and this was the very first time we had ever sailed her. We finished on the water with Beneteau 40s and a J109 after four and a half hours of racing. She was fast, predictable and stable, just tired, so now with the refit she will be faster, stiffer and even more fun to sail, with a 20yr handicap under IRC she will be a "rating demon."
I have a very cost effective mooring in Cowes so she does not cost an arm and a leg in annual running fees.
I have recently gone through a stupidly, no "murderously," expensive divorce so I am looking for a co-owner who has a passion for racing, the desire to compete and WIN. Is this you?
All I ask is for £25000 of your hard earned pounds for a 50% share of this godess......
Gorgeous blonde millionairess prefered, but hey, I just want to get back on the race course so I guess I cant be too choosy!!
